Traditional route: Kyoto

Fushimi Inari Taisa is a very beautiful and unique shrine due to its countless orange vermilion torii gates along the trail. It's a shrine that people wish for company's prosperity. Torii gates have been donated from Japanese companies in order for their wishes to come true. Besides, Japanese characters written on the torii gates are the donator's name. You will also find many fox statues as foxes are believed to be the messenger of Inari
Operating hours: 24 hours (No closing day)
Admission fees: Free
Access: JR Nara line Inari station, just 5 minutes from Kyoto station

Nezameya is a traditional resturant with long heritage of more than 450 years. You will see they grill unagi(eel) at the entrance in front of the store. I ordered a set menu which came with soba with a small slice of grilled Unagi with Kyoto style sushi. The tatse was amazing! Best soba and grilled unagi I've ever tried. However, the portion was very small and a little pricey. Price range above 1,000 Yen and higher. Service is just so so. If you visit Fushimi Inari Shrine in the morning like me, I would definitely recommend you to come here for a quick lunch sinc the food is unexpectedly delicious! From the shrine, you can walk there within 2-3 just walk pass souvenir shops outside the shrine till you find the intersection right infront of you, then keep going straight into the intersection. Nezameya is located on the left corner.
Kinkakuji Golden Pavillion is a Unesco world heritage shining Buddhist temple covered with gold leaf and surrounded by beautiful gardens and large pond. Like others temple there're many souvenir shops outside the temple.
